American Goldfinch

I enjoy visiting Margie Mee's garden in Ashland where I often find captivating subjects. Last June I uncovered "Love in a Mist." When I visited a few days ago, There were a large number of American Goldfinches congregating around her feeder, including many brilliantly colored males. Frosted Stump

I was in the Klamath National Forest in Northern California last Thursday and Friday to assist Diana Hartel with an oral history project which focuses on the lives of riverkeepers on 4 major American river systems. We stayed with Petey Brucker and his wife, Geba who live on the Godfrey Ranch. During an early morning walk with Petey, I spotted "Frosted Stump."
