San Fran Sam

Joan and I were in San Francisco last weekend for a school reunion. I love photographing tourists at famous landmarks and was in the midst of doing so when a Basset Hound took center stage. San Fran Sam is now on a notecard published by Palm Press, Berkeley, CA.

Polka Dot Mailbox

This is the first polka dot mailbox I recall seeing. Its near Gazelle, California by Mount Shasta. Palm Press will publish this image as a Valentine Card in February, 2008. On the card, the polka dots will be transformed into hearts.

Etna Edifice

Spurred by last week's find, "Seasoned Flatbed" in Hornbrook,
I returned to California, this time ending up in the small town
of Etna, nestled in the Scott Valley, 30 miles SW of Yreka. An
old service station painted bright orange with quirky windows
sparked my inner jester.

Seasoned Flatbed

For this week's image I traveled south into California. One
of the first towns across the border is Hornbrook, a small
rural village nestled in the southern exposure of the Siskiyou
Mountains. The
subject I found was a flatbed truck returning
my gaze.
