Tree and Barn

When fall colors are at their peak, there's nothing I love more than a foggy day. Fog's muting effect on distant objects contrasts gracefully with the saturation of foreground subjects. "Tree and Barn" was taken near Talent, OR. Click image to enlarge.

Teazled Truck

Last week I was driving through pear and apple orchards near Talent, OR. They're particularly beautiful this time of year as the leaves change color. Along the way I came across this retired truck, circa 1949, sitting in a patch of teazle. Click image to enlarge.

October Mystique

I was drawn to the shadows on these backlit leaves, photographed in Ashland's Lithia Park last Saturday. I agree with my painter friend who refers to fall at its peak as "The Greatest Show on Earth."

Country Fair Innocent

Last Saturday I went to The Hope Mountain Barter Faire in Takilma, OR, best known for its treehouses. I didn't see treehouses, but did find a peaceful gathering, with great music, food and warm people,
including a number of ex hippies. It brought back fond memories of the 60's.

Sidewalk Fantasies

The spontaneity of childhood never falis to remind me of what art is about. These chalk sketches were found in Ashland on my way to the community garden. ________________Click image to enlarge.
