This week I've posted two images from Ashland's Upper Duck Pond in Lithia Park. While the first image is calm and the second, animated, both were experiments using slower shutter speeds to help create a soft, almost impressionistic sense. Click image to enlarge.

This week's image, "Ethan's Pals" was taken several years ago on a Mennonite chicken farm near Adamstown, PA. At the time I was working on the photography for a series of chidren's books based on farm life. There are nine books in this series which was published by Lerner Publishing in Minneapolis between 1998 and 2004. Click image to enlarge.

"Red Barn and Teazle" was taken in the same nature preserve as "Frosted Landscape," posted 12/23/06 on The Winston Weekly Blog. The angle is nearly the same, yet the feeling is quite different, an example of how weather affects what is seen and felt. Click image to enlarge.

Having lived in Philadelphia and its suburbs for most of my life, I'm continually thrilled to see farms so close to home. These burros live one block from our house in Ashland. Since their arrival a few months ago, I get to see them almost every day. Click image to enlarge.
