From June 2, to July 11, The Froelick Gallery in Portland is presenting "Town & Country: Oregon at 150," a juried show
of paintings and photographs celebrating Oregon's 150th anniversary. I'm pleased that "Yellow Rain Ponchos" was
chosen for the show announcement. I originally posted it on Winston Unleashed July 21, 2007 under the title, "Wind and Rain." Click here to enlarge.
The concept of theme and variation is very appealing to me especially when the variation is anything but humdrum as in
the nearly psychedelic design of these succulents.
One of my favorite locations along the Oregon Coast is Shore Acres south of Coos Bay where "Rock Design #4" was taken. The rock formations are unique and dramatic.
I enjoy visiting Margie Mee's garden in Ashland where I often find captivating subjects. Last June I uncovered "Love in a Mist." When I visited a few days ago, There were a large number of American Goldfinches congregating around her feeder, including many brilliantly colored males. I couldn't take my eyes off them, not to mention their melodious, healing chirp. To hear this wonderful sound, click here.
